About
Our inaugural product, a classic London Dry Gin, is highly textural and citrus led. We created VRSD No.1 Dry Gin with a brief to produce a gin which worked perfectly in a Negroni, while being smooth enough, and sufficiently textural to drink neat over ice. To achieve this we only take a small cut from the heart of the distillation, and bottle the gin at 40% abv, which we feel provides balance.
Tasting Note
Sipped neat, VRSD No. 1 Gin is citrus dominant, with orange oil and grapefruit zest leading juniper, blackcurrant leaf and a bitter, pithy note. Exceedingly well integrated alcohol and enviable viscosity lead to a very smooth mouthfeel.
With tonic, or ice, the gin opens up aromatically, revealing a sweet florality alongside the citrus, with notes of wild strawberry, elderflower, bergamot and coriander leaf.
Creates a negroni, (especially when made with VRSD No. 2 Rosso Vermouth) for the connoisseur – subtle, persistent, with great finesse, complexity and balance.
